The C.F. Smith Orthopedic Recovery Center is a specialized inpatient sub-acute rehabilitation program that focuses on preparing each patient for a successful transition back to his or her home and community following recovery from an orthopedic surgery, condition or trauma. The program has 16 separate rehabilitation beds on a re-designed wing of the Brooke Haven Healthcare facility. The Orthopedic Center focuses on: Mobility Pain Management Strength Functional Activities Endurance Patient/Family Education & Training Falls/Safety Management Incision/Wound Management The unit benefits individuals recovering from Fractures - pelvis, hip, back/spine, arm and wrist Joint Replacements - Hip and Knee Multiple Orthopedic Trauma resulting from accidents, falls, etc. Laminectomy Surgery Amputations
